History

Nurses Christian Fellowship of Scotland was in existence for almost 100 years. It initially took the form of meetings in Hospitals and Nurses’ Homes. Over the years it has sought to adapt to the changing circumstances of professional nurses and midwives.

NCF Scotland was a founder member of the International Nursing Fellowship (NCFI); CNMA(S) has continued to maintain strong links with it. A comprehensive book on the history of NCFI is available from the office.

NCF Scotland was restructured in 2016. A new constitution was drawn up and the name changed to Christian Nurses and Midwives Association (Scotland). You can download the constitution here. CNMA(S) is open to members from other healthcare disciplines including health care assistants.
